We are having a protest March 31st 2009 4:00 pm at the Federal Way Mall. We are protesting our local government (the Federal Way city council) because they are not hiring enough police officers and funding police to protect Federal Way citizens. Federal Way has twice as many rapes as the national average. Many crimes happen here in Federal Way above the national average including rape, property crimes, burglaries, larceny/theft, and motor vehicle thefts. It is a fact that more police officers and better funded stations equal lower crime rates.

I am going to protest because I am tired of our city council members ignoring our high crime rates!
ReplyDeleteI am sick of hearing about people in FedWay getting mugged or shot or raped. If our elected officials wont change things we have to make them.
ReplyDeleteA girl was raped in the woods next to the metropolitan market. And just awhile ago a student at Decatur high school was stabbed while he was walking to school. Come to the protest, our city needs you! If we don't do this now we'll regret it for years. And the next victim might end up being someone you care about. Let's make this happen!
ReplyDeleteOh man I know!!! Federal Way is SCARY at night. I don't go out because I walk, and some of my friends who use the bus don't like going out at night because we're always worrying about being burgled and mugged!!!!

ReplyDeletePlease come out and support this cause. They City is trying to prevent this protest from happening. They don't want the truth about how they operate. Its not the Officers, it's the elected officials who are treating the community and officers like crap. How are they spending the money? Let me tell you, micro-managing has NO business in public safety. There is so much more to this, which would make your head spin....
